1st of all, make sure that with any experiment containing animals that you receive permission to do so (There usually are rules about the usage of animals in projects). You have to make sure that what you are doing will not hurt the earthworm, or any animal.

2nd, what chemicals are you looking to extract from the earthworm? I am sure that you have already studied the earthworm, but if you haven't, here are some sites that may halp you make your decisions.

I am not familiar with anything having to do with extracting the chamicals out of earthworms. I am sure that it is possible though and I encourage you to continue on your research of the earthworm.

Gester,
If you could please keep all of your questions on one thread instead of opening a new one, that would be appreciated.

As for your previous question on glutathione: I could not find where it is produced in an earthworm, but I did find what purpose it serves.
It acts as a digestive enzyme that earthworms use to digest harmful materials in the soil that they live in.

Here are some websites which talk about the role of glutathione in earthworms: http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articl ... id=1161123

And also solely about Glutathione: http://www.thorne.com/altmedrev/fulltext/glut.html
