Number of Petri Dishes

Hi, if my child is testing five products on household bacteria, how many petris should I be figuring on purchasing? How many blotters can fit in a regular size petri dish? Should the control be in a separate dish? Thanks!

You would want a positive (known baterial colony) and negative control (nothing but blotter) so 2 extra dishes separate from the 5 test products. So 7 in all.
