We are doing the "Which Kind of Wood Burns Slower" science fair project. How would we go about measuring which burned slowest? Any advice on how we would collect that data?

Re: Measuring Wood Burning
Hello,
This sounds like a fun project! The "Which Kind of Wood Burns Slower?" project idea is just an idea - it doesn't have a full procedure provided. You will need to design your own experiment to test your hypothesis.
To measure how slow different woods burn you could go about it a few different ways. You could use a stopwatch to time how long it takes for equal sized samples of different types of wood to completely burn. Or you could use a scale to weigh samples before and after a set amount of time. With either approach you'll want to think about variables that need to be controlled (size of the samples, type of ignition).
Hope this helps!
