Solar Powered Water Desalination

Post by priyalaanya »

I need to use a heat lamp as the source of heat for my water desalination project. It's winter and so I am using a 250W heat lamp as the heat source for my project. I needed to know how far should I keep my desalination device from the heat lamp so that it does not melt away the plastic cling wrap on the top of the desalination device.

We would recommend a minimum distance of 12 inches from the plastic, although some trial and error may be required. You may find that is too close. Plastic generally degrades in the presence of any light, particularly in the presence of heat.
