Hi shecaina,
The Fire Snake is a great activity! The instructions can be found here: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/stem-act ... structions. You can buy lighter fluid in a bottle from Amazon, Walmart, Safeway, or other stores and then carefully pour it over the dry sand on a plate.

In terms of safety:
  • Make sure the plate is ceramic and not made out of flammable material (like paper or cardboard)
  • Wear gloves and goggles as lighter fluid can cause skin irritation
  • Work in an open area that is well-ventilated and has nothing flammable nearby
  • Use a long lighter to light the fluid from a safe distance and stay back until the fire has extinguished
  • Wait until the fire is completely extinguished and the snake has cooled before touching it
  • Always keep a fire extinguisher nearby in case of emergencies
Here is a video that demonstrates this activity: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xkbXPzBTHE
Have fun!
