In terms of safety:
- Make sure the plate is ceramic and not made out of flammable material (like paper or cardboard)
- Wear gloves and goggles as lighter fluid can cause skin irritation
- Work in an open area that is well-ventilated and has nothing flammable nearby
- Use a long lighter to light the fluid from a safe distance and stay back until the fire has extinguished
- Wait until the fire is completely extinguished and the snake has cooled before touching it
- Always keep a fire extinguisher nearby in case of emergencies
Have fun!
