Requirements for an Animal Research Program at School

Post by 0580258 »

Good afternoon, I am part of an animal (mice) research program at my school and we have run into a bit of a pickle as we need new strain specific, C57Bl/J6, mice. However, on this quest to new mice we realized that we don't even know if we are following proper regulation at our lab. Please help us realize all the policies and regulations we need to follow for a properly run lab; keep in mind that we are a privately funded lab which dismisses us from some federal codes such as OLAW assurance.

Hello!
To help, could you please outline the lab regulations that you must follow given by the lab. If you do not have these regulations, what makes this specific strain of mice different from other mice that you had used in the past. At science buddies we are here to help guide you with science projects, but I am not sure there are people equipped to interpret specific lab regulations. If you have a questions about your specific experiment, I would be happy to help. From here, I would recommend trying to contact someone at your lab with this questions.
