Question about Distance

up close, the plane is huge, about 45 people max. far away, the plane is about the size of a toy plane. Why is that?

Hi!

This is all due to a concept called a “visual angle,” which is in your retina (in your eye). When closer, this plane, looks much larger because it appears as a larger visual angle in your retina, so it takes up more space in your field of view. When further, the visual angle gets smaller and the object takes up a tinier portion of your field of view; thus, to your eye the object appears to look smaller.
