Questions on how to start a Research with a Professor as a High Schooler

[Confusion]

I'm an incoming junior in high school who wants to start a research with a professor that is about sustainability in aviation. I have a background in Algebra 2H and Chemistry reg, and I will be taking AP Calculus AB and AP Physics 1 (or AP Physics B) next year. What should I do?

Hi!

To be honest, getting research with a professor is really hard to do. The easiest way to do is to apply for a summer program that offers research at a university that is close. If not that then you could try to get into contact with a professor in a nearby university by either cold emailing them or through a connection that you might have though usually this is very hard to do because of various safety reasons and the your reasons with you being a minor (I’m assuming).
