veggie power! need help asap...

Post by marYu »

hi, i need help, I am currently doing the veggie power activity (the one using potatoes).... i connected 8 potatoes to obtain a voltage of approximately 5 volts..... the reading was taken from a multitester.... the problem is, when i usedthe potatoes in series as my power source for a 1.5V lightbulb, it didn't work, althought the lightbulb worked with a battery cell of 1.5 V and another using a 9 V battery source..... how is this.... the multitester is working properly and the connection in series was also done properly. what could be my problem?

help

thanks :o

I would double check your connections from the potato to the light bulb and make sure you are not having a short circuit.
