how to measure humidity

Post by deleted-112844 »

Is there an affordable instrument for a student to buy that can measure humidity? Are there any tests like litmus paper tests that can detect a change in humidity in a specified container? I am trying to do a project on butterflies and I need measure the humidity of the container they are going to be in. Thanks!

Hello,

The device you are looking for is a hygrometer. These are available many places. I have something similar to this one (I use it in my child's room): http://www.amazon.com/Ambient-Weather-W ... 283&sr=1-6 but really any size and shape and price will work for your need, as long as it fits in the butterfly habitat.

Please let me know if you need further help finding what you need.

Thank you so much Tonya! This helps so much :) and it's cheap too! I thought I would have to buy an expensive instrument, but now I just have to buy a simple pen device. Thank you!
