I've searched all over and I couldn't find a thing, can someone please explain it to me?

I suspect you mean Nanowire field effect junction diode. There are several good articles regarding this type of device on the web. I would refer you to the URL: http://www.intechopen.com/books/nanowir ... icle-front. You might want to go to section 4 regarding applications. This type of device is mainly used for detecting visable and uV light.
