purchasing materials

Post by megsters »

Hello! So I'm conducting a research project, and I'm in need of materials. I know that ATCC is a place to buy from, but do they sell to high school kids? Without any background checks or anything? I looked around on their website and googled some stuff but not much information showed up. From what I found it seems I have the all clear to order things, but I just wanted to make sure I won't be getting into any sort of trouble ordering things from them. Thank you!

Hi megsters,

Can you give us a bit more information about what science fair project you are doing and what materials you are buying? You are correct that for safety reasons the ATCC will not ship to an individual at their home. Your teacher/school may be able to help you with ordering items, or if you are working with another lab, they also might be able to help. We often recommend people look for science fair items at Carolina Biologicals (www.carolina.com). I believe they will ship to an individual, but since I don't know what you are doing, I can't be sure they have what you are looking for.

I hope this helps, and please feel free to post again in this thread with more information and we can try to help you further.
