Project Question: need some help on one of my science problems to find the independent variable, dependent variable and control variable.? The experiment deals with "Who has better cardiovascular fitness athletes or non-athletes. Two groups of people (trained athletes and nom-athletes) performed standard exercise. Each stepped up and down on a platform (8' from the ground) for 3 minutes at a rate of 30 steps per minute. then there is a chart on recorded averages. Can someone please help me

I need some help on one of my science problems to find the independent variable, dependent variable and control variable.? This may help. What are the definitions of these terms? The constants, or constant variables are those things that you keep exactly the same between trials. The independent variable is the ONE thing you change between trials - it's the thing you're trying to test. The dependent variable is the result.

So in your homework problem, what is it you hope to find out, or what data does your experiment generate that will let you make a conclusion? What one thing are you changing? What things are held constant?
