Making Cell phone mircoscopes

Post by Rsmond »

Hello all, I recently saw this science fair project (https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... ?from=Blog) and thought it was a considerable choice for my science fair.

But what is the hypothesis for this project?
What are the variables possible?

If any of you have any idea, please give me a hand.

Thanks in advance,
Rsmond

Hello Rsmond,

The project describes one way to build a microscope using a cell phone and an auxiliary lens. There is no experiment or hypothesis included in the project. But you could make your own hypothesis and experiment. You might experiment with different ways of making the microscope (maybe different lenses).

There are some questions at the end of the “Background” section of the project description that may help you with deciding on a hypothesis. For example, the microscope described in the project uses a 1 mm diameter glass ball lens. What would happen if you changed the lens diameter?

I hope this helps. Please post again if you have more questions.
