MAGNET ATTRACTION! URGENT

This year, I am doing my project on magnet attraction. To do this, I am using a simple generator to measure the strength of each magnet :neodymium or ceramic. I want to find a way to expand my project. How exactly can I measure the magnetic field of each magnet? Also, what other magnets can I use? Can I add more areas to this project?
Please answer ASAP :D

Hi VictoriaLee,

What is the hypothesis you are testing? Your hypothesis will determine what your experimental procedure needs to include.

As far as measuring the magnetic field of each magnet goes, there are (at least) a couple of options. You can use iron filings to visualize the magnetic field. The following webpage describes how to do this quite nicely:

You can measure the relative strength of the magnetic field by seeing how many objects each magnet can hold. The procedure below describes how this is done for an electromagnet, but the same thing will work for a regular magnet.

Measuring the absolute strength of a magnetic field requires a gaussmeter. You can check with your science teacher to find out if your school has one.
