My daughter wants to present to her 9th grade class the topic "stella evolution." She has collected star data to include the HR diagram showing the stars along the main sequence. This is not typically a "science experiment" as there is nothing that she will measure direcly, as all information will come from stella databases.
However, she loves astronomy, and wants to show our position in the Milky Way, the stars within our local neighborhood, and the path our sun will take on the HR diagram as Sol ages to eventually a White Dwaft.
The problem we are have is formulating a working hypothesis and hoping someone can suggest a hypothesis within the framework I have outlined. Appreciate any guidance, thanks.

- Project Question: My daughter wants to present the stella evolution (life and death) on the HR diagram. she wants to talk about stella properties (masses, luminosit, ect) and show how our star will age. In addition, she would like to build a 3d model of the solar neighborhood. The problem we are having is that we will not measure anything directly, but extract data from catalog sources. The difficultiy lies in determininf a reasonable hypothesis, and would appreciate some thoughs along this line, thanks.
