Design Ideas for electronic dice (7-segment display)

Post by deleted-314992 »

Hi,

I've made a PCB for a 7-segment electronic dice and I cannot think of an suitable design for it as the PCB is pretty large.

I am using school equipment to build my project thus I can use 4mm plywood or 3mm acrylic (or a combination of both) which are laser printed

I cannot have curved faces unless I build a skeleton for it and use flexible plywood (which are look pretty ugly)

The dimensions of the main circuit board are 5.5cm by 7.5 circuit board which is connected through flying wires to a side board of dimensions 3.5cm by 3cm that is soldered to a 7 segment display of dimensions 1.78 by 1.27.

Can one of you creative thinkers help me with this task of design for this project

Thanks in advance.

EDIT

Sorry I forgot to mention, the dice works by putting a finger (or any other opaque object) between the LDR and LED so they must be looking towards each other.
