Sound Affecting What We See- Research Help!

Post by deleted-320939 »

I am doing a science stem expo project on how what we hear or don't hear can affect our perception on what we are seeing. For example in movies when a hit was fake but a punch sound was added to make it seem real. This may seem like a simple issue but I cannot find anything to cite or gather information from. Any help will be much appreciated! The sooner the better because my project will be filmed in an area and I would like to keep the area in the background consistent. Thanks -Ani.

Hi Ani,

This sounds like an interesting project. I did a google search of 'how does sound affect what we see' and it came up with a few blog posts you might want to check out: https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=c ... hat+we+see. I thought the first one was pretty interesting: http://scienceblogs.com/cognitivedaily/ ... it-affect/.

I hope this helps get you started! Keep us posted.
