Which beverage releases the most gas?

Post by deleted-325339 »

I'm doing my science fair project on which beverage contains the most gas (soda, milk, juice, water) and I'm not finding anything online about how much gas each beverage contains.

Hello declan_dowd,

I’ve seen a couple of science fair projects that investigated the amounts of gas produced by different beverages when mixed with an acid (typically acetic). The idea here is to simulate what may happen when beverages mix with stomach acids.

A 12 ounce can of soda contains about 2.2 grams of carbon dioxide. I don’t think the other beverages you listed contain any gases other than small amounts of air. But they may produce some gases when mixed with an acid.

I hope this helps and good luck with your project. Please post again if you have more questions.
