Deep Knee Bends - Model Build Question

Post by deleted-331028 »

I'm helping my daughter build the Deep Knee Bend Model.

In building the model, we have a question regarding the placement of the 2 hinges on the leg.
One hinge is attached to the base and the side of the leg. The other hinge is our issue. The picture shows the hinge attached to the tibia & foot but we are confused as to the placement of this hinge. At rest, is the hinge open (ie. horizontal) so that when the knee bends it shifts forward? The figure 2 shows something on the top portion of the foot which we cannot make out.

Your help is sincerely appreciated!

Hi CalgaryRicc,

Sounds like you are on the right track! Yes, the knee should shift forward when it bends.

Post back if you other other questions.
All the best,
Terik
