Effect of fluoride on bacteria

Post by rkrocks09 »

I think fluoride has a negative effect on the body after swallowed. (the FDA is behind water fluoridation). but, after I've already grown my bacteria (I used yogurt cultures and agar plates), the fluoride isn't killing it...my science project needs to have effective data, and I really don't want to falsify it (I will if I have to). Do I need to switch and try the effect of fluoride on calcium (I think fluoride depleats calcium). I don't know how to set the calcium experiment up if mine fails. Help!

Just report the results that you got, and do your best to explain them. Don't worry about whether you got the results that you expected, and certainly don't alter your data to fit your expectations.
