Mpemba Effect

Im doing a science fair on the mpemba effect and my science teacher asked me why would a scientist care about the results of this expiriment and how would the results of this expirement help anyone? When im presenting this science fair the judge will ask me these questions and i dont know how to answer. Pls help me!
