My child is doing a project about the rings of Saturn. And we are at the stage where we are going to put his experiment together. I originally going to do his experiment with a record player to show to effect that Saturn's gravity has on objects. But I'm having trouble finding a record player at the moment. so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on alternatives I could use.
I appreciate the help ahead of time.

Maybe a variable speed drill with a locking trigger. Put a bolt & nut through an old record and chuck that in drill. You can then set the drill speed and lock it on with the trigger or tape the trigger down if it doesn't lock.
Searching Amazon.com for rotating discs came up with this: http://www.amazon.com/RPM-Reversible-Ge ... B00UIVW5PE which is a low voltage geared motor that might be useful. http://www.amazon.com/SOUND-VS-2002-SPK ... B005A9ZYI4 is a USB record player that's cheap. Even if it doesn't do a good job playing records it might do what you need.
