Bio adhesive Nanoparticles

Hi!

I am pursuing a project on comparing natural bio adhesive nanoparticle drug delivery for a potential insulin pill. I read that some synthetic bio adhesive polymers create VOCs, so my project compares three promising polymers that do not negatively affect the environment. I was wondering how I can prepare the polymers out of the powder form. By the way, I am using tragacanth, methyl cellulose, and soluble starch for the polymers.

Hi there!

I would suggest trying to dissolve them all in water. I did a quick google search and it appears they are all water soluble. Do you already have these powders? If so, I would also check the company that makes them, their contact information should be on the bottle/packaging. If you contact them, they should be able to tell you if water is the correct solvent and how much water you would need to get them to dissolve.

I was thinking more of using a compression method to turn the powders into capsules. Is there a way that I can make the capsules out of the powder without expensive rollers and presses?

I have actually never done this before, but I did a search online and found this. http://capsuleconnection.com/the-capsule-machine.html/ I don't know if this is something that would work and it doesn't look too expensive, depending on your budget of course. Was this what you had in mind?

I think that it will work, but unfortunately my school does not have the device .

Is there a method that can condense the powders without any devices specific to making tablets? I read about using a blender, but I'm not sure about the exact procedure.
