Car engineering for kids

Post by deleted-345892 »

Hello,
I hope someone can advise me, my son is really pationate about cars since forever, he knows already he wants to make a career out of it. Since he is so pationate and we kniw teen age is a critical age, I would like to give him a little early help to
Accomplish his passion. Is there a place in Los Angeles like a kids camp or internships for kids where he could get really into the subject? I could not find anything before college classes who will be in a long time for him.
Thank you

Hi,

Welcome to science buddies! It's great that your son has an interest that can be developed into a successful career.

This website is for answering science fair projects and we don't have specific information on summer internships, but here is some information that may be helpful for you.

What grade is your son in? High school internships are usually designed for high school juniors before their senior year. If your son is in a lower grade, there may be some science camps that would be useful.

Here are some websites in the LA area for high school interns in a number of areas. Two of the areas that might be of interest to your son are design and technology, so you will have to sort through to identify the programs to apply to.

It is really hard to get high school internships, so apply as early as possible for all suitable positions. Do not sign up for any programs that require payment. If no paying internships are available, then try volunteering at a local university or business. Good luck.

As an alternative or in addition to a summer internship, I recommend doing a science fair project over the summer. It's early now, so your son could do background research and select an interesting topic and gather materials to work on over the summer. Here are some new articles and project ideas from this website that may help to identify a suitable project idea:

Working on a science project over the summer is a good way to develop a prize winning project that could quality for scholarship awards in next year's science fair.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions, especially about a science fair project topic.
