My question is this: is there a way to internally illuminate chrome? or is there a material that will give an appearance of chrome but is not? eg a plastic material that could carry light waves from an LED

Hi jeddamaster,

These forums are specifically for K-12 students, parents, and teachers working on science fair projects. If you are working on such a project, what is the hypothesis you are trying to test? If you are not working on such a project, then a different set of online forums will be better able to help you. That said, a google search for "make plastic look like chrome" may provide the answers you are looking for.
All the best,
Terik
