Poison Ivy Experiment

Post by deleted-358122 »

For this project I'm doing, I was thinking about seeing how atmospheric CO2 affects the toxicity of Poison Ivy or other members of the Cashew family. How would one go about testing toxicity of a plant? And are there any specific plants (like Poison Oak, for example) that would work better than Poison Ivy? 8)

Hello,

Are you trying to measure the effects on the plant's viability with differing concentrations of CO2, or are you trying to investigate the potency of the plants with differing CO2 levels?

I would think that poison ivy could work well for your study, but you must be careful of course! It would be best to work with it in a controlled environment. Do you have any resources at your school that may be able to help with such as study?
