Forensic and Genetic Experiments

Hey there!

I really want to do a science fair project on forensics or genetics for the upcoming year. (I've done only a psychology experiment before, and that was for last year's fair.) However, I'm a bit stuck on a specific topic. Here are the things I'm interested in:

GENETICS: Mutations, karyotyping, inheretance of diseases

FORENSICS: DNA testing of all kinds, police lineup accuracy, forensic art and age progression, examination of crime scenes, forensic toxocology

Could anyone suggest a more narrowed-down idea for me? I'd really appreciate the help!

Hi ChristinaB.

If you have a strong constitution look into forensic entomology. Not many people study it but it is a cool discipline that is becoming more sophisticated with molecular advances.

And if you use invertebrates (insects) there is less paperwork to fillout for the regional and international fairs.

i would personally suggest that you do a project that you are intereted in...NOT WHAT SOMEONE SUGGESTS TO YOU...it will be more enjoyable to discover what you were curious about...in the long run if you study something that you have a question about or you do not know it will build pride in yourself and in what you have done
