Oxybenzone in seawater

Post by deleted-368772 »

Hello,
I am Stacy Ahn, a high school student who is doing a research on the effects of oxybenzone and retinyl palmitate (Vitamin A) on the bioluminescence of dinoflagellates. I found a powder type oxybenzone chemical and a liquid retinyl palmitate online (https://www.etsy.com/listing/243693014/ ... CvxDw_wcBI) and came to this question: Would this oxybenzone or retinyl palmitate chemical alone, which is insoluble in the water, be soluble in the seawater/have any effect on these marine organisms? If you know anything about this issue or have any suggestions, could you please let me know?

Sincerely,
Stacy Ahn
