Testing sugars HELP!!!!

Post by deleted-422651 »

I am doing the project "sucrose and fructose and glucose oh my" and I cant figure out how to create the equation at the end. I understand where you find the glucose concentration at linear time point but where do i find percntage of sucrose converted or original sucrose concentration?

Hey shree1254,

I assume you are doing this wonderful Science Buddies project: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... ml#summary.
And when you ask about the 'equation at the end', I will assume that you mean the equation: [Original sucrose concentration × Glucose concentration at linear time point= Percentage of sucrose converted]

The original sucrose concentration will be found at the point of the procedures when you first make the sucrose solution. Unless you modified this experiment in some way, the procedures dictate that the original sucrose concentration is 10% ("Make a solution containing 10% sucrose").

In order to find the percentage of sucrose converted, you will then multiply 10% by the glucose concentration at linear time point.

Hope this helped! :D
