Growing a culture of trametes versicolor fungi

Post by deleted-389182 »

Hi!
I have to do a science fair project, and my group and I have decided to study the biodegradation of oil in different types of water. We plan on using a plate of the trametes versicolor white rot fungus in order to achieve this. The only problem is, we're not sure how to grow a culture of this fungus using malt agar plates. We were wondering if we can just micro pipette the fungus into the malt agar plate along with oil and water and see what happens. This is our first time using a fungus so we're really confused.

Thank you!
