My science fair group decided to base our topic on the 'making markers' project idea and make our research question "Can plant, tea-bag, and fruit -based marker dye create a marker that has the same quality as manufactured chemical-besed markers?". The problem is that we started dye-making procedures as written on the project idea page and the dye is not working at all. We made a purple dye from blueberries, however, when we tested it the dye did not show on the paper. We looked for possible sources of error, and we found none since the dye was made as it was supposed to be made, the color was dark enough too.
Any ideas on how to fix the dye? Should we make it thicker or add any extra ingredients?

Re: Making Markers
Hi Leli_B,
I am sorry to hear that the dye isn't working. I would definitely try to make the dye thicker and repeat.
Good Luck and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help.
