I am helping my sons step son to build a phophorous atom model. Can anyone help with suggestions.

The "Ask an Expert" forums are areas where students, parents, and teachers can get help with their science fair projects. Please do not ask "homework help" type questions.

The fastest way to build a model of an atom is to use small styrofoam balls suspended around a metal/plastic hoop. Use different hoops to represent different electron levels.

I've seen some cool ones involving objects suspended in various types of fluids.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that you can also use food coloring in the above to create a layering effect. Personally, however, I haven't done a project like it, even when I was in middle school :)
