Finding a hypothesis for Bioinformatics project

Post by deleted-514040 »

I want to do the Bioinformatics: The Perfect Marriage Between Computer Science & Medicine project, but I can't seem to find a suitable hypothesis for me. How do I derive a hypothesis from that project?

Hi,

Not all projects involve a hypothesis. Some are more in the nature of methods demonstrations where a technique is described and tested and evaluated. I think the only way you could turn this into an experimental project would be to choose a certain type of medical or hereditary condition and then develop a method for using bioinformatics to answer some question about the disease.

Here are some links to articles about using bioinformatics in medicine and maybe you can get an idea of a certain area to focus on by looking at them. Unfortunately they are mostly technical and not easy for nonscientists to understand so when you get some ideas post again and we'll try to steer you into a project with a testable hypothesis.
