Bacteriophage plaques

Post by deleted-591615 »

Hi. I am interested in doing a project about using antibiotics that induce the SOS response in bacteria (with glycerol) as a way to increase the plaque formation and plaque size of bacteriophages.
My question is: Would it be appropriate to perform this kind of experiment with E coli k-12 and with either a T4r or Lambda phage (if so, which would be better), and what kinds of antibiotics would be good for this (would induce the SOS response)?
Also, in context with this experiment, are there specific techniques for producing the phages that I should consider?
And are there any other factors or variables in this process that I would be able to test? (what ways can I elevate this project to make it more original? Especially since this experiment has been done before)
