Crickets as a Science Fair Project

Post by deleted-595690 »

Hello! I'm going to be an upcoming junior in high school, and I was wondering if having crickets would be a good science fair project. I was thinking of having them see if they can actually tell the temperature around them. I'm not sure if this is fit for a junior in high school... But I know there's been a lot of people that tried this, but I was wondering how I can make this project unique for my project.

Thank you!

You may have seen the project at Science Buddies on this topic?

You can find the project and procedure here: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... emperature

At Science Buddies, that is listed as a project with a difficulty (approximately grades 4-6) that may not be difficult enough for your grade level. You definitely want to make sure that you get whatever project you choose approved. There are some suggestions on the "Make it your own" tab that have variations you might consider as you think about how you want to proceed.

If you want to look at other ideas, you might try the Topic Selection Wizard to get recommendations that match your interests: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... ject-ideas
