Independent variable and control variable

i have read everything it tells but i can't figure it out i have tried to use the internet but i just can't figure out the independent variable the variable and the control. Please help a student out

The Science Buddies website has so many wonderful resources to help you figure out what your experiment's variables are, including the Ask an Expert forum, where we will readily assist you with figuring this all out.
In order for us to better help you, could you explain what exactly your experiment is and how your tests are set up?
Once we have a better idea of what your project is, we'll be able to help work you through what each of your variables are.
Quick reminder that:
Independent Variable (IV) - What you change in the experiment to see how it affects something else (the DV)
Some examples include: time, age, amount of water, amount of sunlight, environment change, etc.

Dependent Variable (DV) - What is being changed or altered as a result of the IV
Some examples include: Growth, height, color, response to IV.

Control Variable (CV) - Constants in your experiment; the things that are NOT being changed whatsoever in your experiment.
ex: same humidity, same amount of food, what you're not changing.
