How to get rid of water with lead in it

Post by deleted-808975 »

I am currently doing a project of how ph impacts lead testing, and so I have liquids with lead in it. I don’t know what to do with the lead as it is dangerous and cannot be poured down the sink or thrown outside. Help is needed so I can get the cups off of my countertop :?

Hi Alexisj2022,

What you have to do varies depending on your state and local government. You should consult them; maybe write an email or something.

Hope this helps, IlI

Hi Alexisj2022,
It's great that you are doing the right thing and handling this material with care!

I would suggest that you look up how your town handles "household hazardous waste" (You can search for terms like lead paint, motor oils, antifreeze, etc...) Usually, your town will have a few times a year when they collect this material or you can bring it to the landfill where they have a special place to collect this. You may also want to check with your teacher and see if your school's science lab have special material disposal that you can use as well.

Good Luck!
