Geo-engineering to combat sea levels

Post by deleted-814361 »

Hello, my son (Year 11 in Australia, the second lasy year of high school) has a question. If climate change is causing sea levels to rise, could this be combatted at least temporarily by flooding areas below sea level? Would filling the Danakil depression, the Caspian depression and perhaps others (Qattara, Lake Assal, Lake Eyre) with sea water have any impact?

Hi richardplunkett1,

This forum is intended for students, parents, and teachers working on K-12 science projects. If your question is related to a science project, please post some details such as your hypothesis, research question or experimental plan. If you are looking for help with homework or general science discussions there are other sites that should be able to answer your question.
