Four leaf clovers: i need help from someone who knows alot

Post by soldier612 »

This may sound like an unusual request, but I was going to purchase a four leaf clover on ebay. It says they are real. I'm worried it might be fake though, they also have 4 leaf clover accessories. Can anyone here help me determine if the clovers in the products are real or not? Only reply if you have knowledge in this area.

What I want to do is add you to my messenger program, show you what I'm about to buy, and get you to just verify that its not fake. I know many sellers scam other people so I want someones assistance here if you can help me out. thanks for your time, bye for now

Hi,

This forum is for questions about science fairs, not random questions. Also, we are only allowed to contact students who post here through Science Buddies Administration, so we can't do that for you.

That said, I suggest you read this article on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four-leaf_clover because it has more information and a small section on other plants commonly sold as fake four-leaf clovers.

This could become an interesting scifair project.

4 leaf clovers are very common as both the wood sorrel and alfalfa. You just have to look. Once you find one, often there are many in the same area.

Why do you think this is?
Why are there 4 leaf clovers?
Are there 5 leaf clovers?
Why are 3 leaf clovers more common?
How do these plants reproduce? Does that have anything to do with the number of leaves? What if you cross a 4 leaf clover with a 3 leaf clover?

Keep asking why.

Yeah, its just that some clovers are from the white clover plant. Some aren't. Thats why its hard to tell for sure if they are real or fake. I'll just have to use my own judgement I guess. I've searched other articles online, but they aren't very descriptive on being able to tell the differences between these things.

but thanks anyways
