Drug Solubility

How would I measure and test the solubility of drugs like pain-relievers? I researched a little on how to do it, but everything requires expensive lab equipment that neither I, or my school have. Is there some other way to test drug solubility that isn't as expensive? Also, how would I measure the solubility?
