Re: Humidity for E.coli & how long can it survive?
Hello,
The optimal humidity for E.coli growth is high, around 70%-90%. However, this can vary depending on the goal of your experiment. Under standard laboratory conditions, the bacteria can survive on a nutrient agar petri dish for several weeks. The duration may also vary based on the specific strain and environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, and other contents or stressors in the petri dish.
I hope that helps!
