Light does reflect off things other than glass; it’s just that glass is a clear/transparent material that makes it easy to see how the light reflects. That’s why glass was used as an example for this experiment. But in the real world, light does reflect off all objects, which is easist to see that with clear objects such as diamonds or clear water.
