Combining thermotherapy and chemical cleaning to determine by experiment which best way to prevent mold on strawberries

There is a suggested experiment, called Save Those Spoiling Strawberries, to put strawberries in hot water (testing different temperatures and times) to see which keeps strawberries from molding the longest.

Could I do a combination of cleaning strawberries by soaking them in room temperature water mixed with vinegar compared to a thermotherapy technique to see which is better for keeping strawberries mold free longer?

It would be like heat cleaning vs chemical cleaning vs the control of no cleaning. Thanks so much for your help! This is my first science fair project
