truthsayers,

Welcome to the Ask an Expert Forums! This site: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... thod.shtml provides a good explanation of the steps of the scientific method, in the order that the steps are usually taught by a teacher. Let us know if you have more questions.

Good luck with your project!
All the best,
Terik

About the scientific method

Well, thanx but, i am just wondering for my project well, what would happen if man blocked magnetic waves in the earth and the earth stop moving what would happen. I can't find any sights with that information. Neither could my dad.

truthsayers,

Just so you know, we ask that you keep all your questions on the same thread. This helps the Experts be better able to help you. I've merged your two threads into one thread with the title "Scientific Method."
All the best,

truthsayers,

I'm not totally clear on what you're asking, but it seems like there are two components: (i) the possibility of 'blocking' a magnetic field, and (ii) the importance/effects of the Earth's magnetic field.

In answer to the first part, it's not possible block a magnetic field, because the field lines have to find their way to the opposite pole; however, field lines will concentrate in some materials, so these can be used to redirect the field. Explanations here:

http://www.phy6.org/earthmag/magnQ&A1.htm#q11
http://www.phy6.org/earthmag/magnQ&A3.htm#q45

About the Earth's magnetic field:

http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/Hb ... Earth.html
http://www.geomag.bgs.ac.uk/earthmag.html (a little technical, but some nice illustrations)

These articles focus on changes in the Earth's field:

http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2003 ... cfield.htm

Hope that helps. If you can rephrase your question, we'll try to give you more specific answers.

what would happen if ... the earth and the earth stop moving
The motion of the earth is quite complex. The earth is rotating about an axis (nominally one revolution per 24 hours). The earth is also traveling around an eliptical orbit of the sun (nominally one orbit per 365.25 days). Our solar system (our sun and the planets and asteroids orbiting it) are traveling through space in some relationship to our milky way galaxy and our galaxy is moving through space with respect to other galaxies. Our moon and various sattelites are orbiting the earth. You might be able to model what might happen to things on if the earth's rotation slowed down or sped up because the earth's rotation doesn't have much affect the other things in our solar system including our moon and sattelites; however, all of the other motions are complex gravitational relationships that can't be changed without alterting the motions of the other objects.
