jesusfreak4ever,
Welcome to the Ask an Expert Forums. I am assuming that by salt water you are meaning that you are trying to replicate the ocean's water and not justing adding salt to water. There are all sorts of resources about salt water - books, encyclopedias, internet sites, professional articles, documentaries - the list just goes on and on. I will point you to a few sources and then tell you how you can go about finding more of them on your own, which is an important skill that you will need, especially if you are going to be taking AP classes.
Here are a few resources to get you started:
(1) Go to http://highered.mcgraw-hill.com/sites/0 ... guide.html and click the "Student Study Guide PDF" link. This is a chapter summary about seawater from an excellent introductory oceanology textbook called "An Introduction to the World's Oceans".
(2) Here is a Wikipedia article about sea water: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seawater
(3) Here is a resource about how salt water affects plants: http://www.growingedge.com/community/ar ... c=ED&q=735
You can find more resources about how salt water affects plant by searching with the terms saltwater, plant, growth on Google. You should also look at this article: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... tion.shtml and this one: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... plan.shtml.
Good luck on your project!
