- Project Question: Does dogs bacteria kill bacteria. My daughter wants to investigate this and she found this experiment online. It requires the use of Staphylococcus epidermis bacteria (non-pathogenic). My question is whether this is safe to use and where is the best place to obtain it. I have found an online company selling this, but want to make sure I go thru a reputable dealer. She is in 7th grade. Also any information you can give us on safety precautions when using this. Thanks

Hi Fran,
I think you mean "Staphylococcus epidermidis"? Use of any active biological agent requires some safety precautions and sometimes requires filling out a risk assessment for use in a science fair. Here is a sample risk assessment for S. Epidermidis.
