Would a biological indicator be good for testing how much pollution is in the water? Thanks!

I am not an expert, but I would think that biological indicators would be an okay test for water polution...but a better way to go (I would think) would be to use some type of chemical that shows pollution for more accurate results and data.

Hi,
I'm glad to hear you have some interest in the field of water quality. "Pollution" is a very broad term. Biological indicators can provide useful information about certain types of pollution. Some types of pollution would be difficult to study using biological indicators. You might want to search the internet for information about "biochemical oxygen demand" or BOD.

There are many things to learn. Just start reading about BOD and thinking about your project design, and then let us know if you run into problems or questions. Good luck!
