Surface Tention & Reasons For Surface Tension

Post by deleted-24718 »

My teacher has explained me "surface tension", but i didnt get it then, later she told us to bring many points on 'surface tension' . though I found many websites that help me to do this, I still have not found a clear definition for 'surface tension'. i also need to know more about the topic, like 'the reasons for surface tension.

Did you try typing "What is surface tension?" into http://www.answers.com? It produces a very nice starting point http://www.answers.com/What%20is%20surface%20tension%3F
Try reading that first and if you are still uncertain about something, try to ask a specific question here about the aspect that you don't understand. There is a lot of physics involved with "surface tension" because it is a boundary phenomenon so there are lots of boundary equations that must be satsified to predict its behaviors in any arbitrary situation.
