If a projectile is fired from ground level at 128 feet per second, how long will it be before it returns to the ground?

This sounds like a physics homework problem. Science buddies is for people working on Science Fair projects and we don't normally help with homework.

FYI: You didn't provide enough data to answer your question. At what angle with respect to the horizon was the projectile fired? Are you to ignore aerodynamic resistance?

If you put "projectile motion equations" into a search engine, you can probably find enough information to help you with your homework.
